‘Riding High’

A collection of unique hand printed lampshade designs!

Riding High is a collection of contemporary multi-textural screen printed fabric lampshades inspired by the increased popularity of women’s cycling.   I have always loved the image of the bicycle and have recently found a real passion for cycling. The motivation behind this collection of prints is also quite personal and emotional.   On 10th August this year, my father and I took part in ‘Ride London’ an amazing 100 mile cycle ride, in the most challenging of weather conditions! Our motivation being to raise money for a charity very close to our hearts. My ‘Riding High’ lampshade is my interpretation of this awesome day!   To create this textile artwork post ride has been wonderful as it has allowed me to reflect on a personal, year long journey and upon triumphs and bravery within our family. As well as the importance of the bicycle both historically and within contemporary society!   Along the way I have become a huge fan of cycling and found new admiration for all who cycle!

Thrilled to have work selected for Leicester’s ‘The Cank Street Gallery Open Exhibition!’

I entered two of my largest pieces of work to date in to Leicester’s Cank Street Gallery Open Exhibition this Autumn! I was delighted when they were selected to be featured by such a well established gallery! These two pieces are so dear to my heart as I was inspired to create them by my little girl who features in them both! They also express my love of screen printing as the main images were put on to screen and printed! I lovingly added hand painted colour to them in mixed media, including acrylics, water colour and hand stencilling techniques! The work also signifies the start of my returning to print on textiles as they provided the inspiration for my collection ‘Family are Key’ textile collection.

Family are Key Exhibition

Family are Key Exhibition

01 March – 31 May 2014  at the LCB Depot

I was delighted to work with LPW as their  Textile Resident for 2013 and this exhibition brings together the work that I produced during the year. My collection of work combines hand drawn and photographic imagery and pattern. I named the collection ‘Family are Key’ as the imagery embraces my thoughts and feelings of motherhood and incorporates images of my two little girls as ‘Cameos’.

'From prints on paper to prints on textiles!'

A vibrant addition to Long Lane Surgery in Coalville!

A collection of artwork is now on display at Long Lane Surgery in Coalville. The exhibition proudly displays artwork created by the children who attended my summer art workshops.

The existing artwork on the Long Lane Surgery walls was beginning to look quite tired and faded.

Thanks to your children, we have replaced it with a collection of contemporary printed canvases that will hopefully add a ray of sunshine to those who visit the practice.

The canvases reflect the fun that was had at the workshops, brightly coloured with images of butterflies, flowers, camper vans and VW’ Beetles, they brighten the waiting room, corridor and children’s play area.

‘Five A Day’ Mandalas now add a rush of colour to  a corridor that was once lacking in zest! The brightly painted and collaged Mandalas display a variety of juicy fruits. An appropriate addition to a doctors surgery!

Dr Nic Rushman of Long Lane Surgery has welcomed the addition of  fresh artwork with enthusiasm, he says,

‘I love the vibrancy and energy in Zoe’s artwork.  They have freshened and brightened the surgery enormously, and are quite beautiful.’

My latest printed and painted Mandala ‘Autumn Thoughts’ has been added to the reception area and I will soon be adding examples of my butterfly prints that are available to purchase.

(A price list will be added to my site very soon).
